Microfiction Day 158 – ‘A Life in Art’

His dad hated tattoos so he hid them.

The mountain peaks on his bicep that he covered with a long sleeve whenever he visited. The fishing hook behind his ear that was hidden by the hair his dad always told him to get cut. The paper aeroplane out of sight beneath his watch strap.

When his dad finally passed away, his mind gone long before his body, he got a tattoo on the back his leg, the outline of a father and son holding hands.

The final piece in the story of his dad that he told on his skin.
