Microfiction Day 354 – ‘The Morning After’

She peered around the door at the lump hidden under a crumpled duvet.

“MORNING!”

The lump groaned.

“How are we feeling?”

The lump shifted.

She stalked across the room and snatched at the duvet, throwing it to the floor before flinging open the curtains like a Disney character about to burst into song.

“How are you ok? Someone has taken my brain and replaced it with marbles.”

“I drank loads of water before bed.”

“And you didn’t think to tell me to?”

“I did. You told me to go away.”

“Mel?”

“Yeah?”

“Go away.”

Laughing, she left the curtains open.
