Microfiction Day 287 – ‘Doppelganger’

They had to be twins.

“Which one of you is Eric Cooper?”

“I am.”

Everything the same. The timing, the tone, the way their mouths moved. Uncanny, even for twins.

“This is a great joke, but as you can see, we’re extremely busy today. Whichever of you isn’t Eric, please make a separate appointment.”

As she opened her office door they both walked in, shoulder to shoulder, forcing her out of the way.

They looked at the chair, and both went to sit in it.

She blinked and one man looked back at her, a lopsided smile on his face.
