Microfiction Day 201 – ‘Perception’

She went to the coffee shop every day at the same time. She had a cappuccino and on Thursdays, a blueberry muffin.

He went to the coffee shop at the same time every Friday. He always saw the lady with the cappuccino and watched her gazing out of the window with a sad looking smile on her face.

She was always alone. He felt sorry for her.

On Fridays the lady with the cappuccino could feel a man’s pitying gaze on the side of her face as she smiled at the thought of her grandchildren meeting her there every Saturday.
